RML-5  Micro reflex sensor with max. sensing distance 5.5 mm.

Application

The proximity sensor is employed as a contactless signal generator, e. g. for sensing

pointer instruments, checking press and punch tools, edge control, checking magazine

feed, counting, measuring.

Design

In the proximity sensor emitter and receiver nozzles are combined and surrounded by a

protective sleeve. The sleeve prevents damage to the nozzles and at the same t ime

serves as a mount for the nozzle inserts and for adjusting the clearance with the aid of

the male thread of size.

Different types of proximity sensor are available. These are differentiated externally by

means of marking with colored rings and also by the various nozzle inserts and dimensions.

By suitable nozzle insert geometry a high degree of axial and lateral sensitivity as well

as good reproducibility can be attained.

Operation

The sensor nozzle is supplied with waterfree and oilfree air via port P. Should there

be an interruption in the continuous outflow of air the signal pressure of ~. 5 mbar is

generated at output X. This signal Is increased to the required pressure by an amplifier.

With the various reflex sensors available the following axial changes in clearance damin

as well as fixed objects of the following minimum dimensions can be registered.

Caution!

Air supply The proximity sensor must be supplied with fine-fillered, oi/-free.

Do not blowout or clean proximity sensors with air guns, since this will damage the

connected amplifier due to excessive pressure.
